Learning To Tile

We weren't sure about diving into a tiling project, but it turned out quite nicely. This shot is part of the work in progress. With the help of Mr. E and his tile cutter, we managed to get the bathroom tiled in one day. (This was the same day that the roots were being yanked out of the back yard with a backhoe.) The next day Mrs. E began what was intended to be a demonstration of the grouting process, but turned into her completing it. She did a tremendous job. We have the greatest neighbors.

Heavy Duty Hauling

I can't believe how many roots were anchoring the bushes. The thirty year old evergreens had really dug in. Once they were ripped from the ground with the neighbor's backhoe, they were loaded into my F150. It was quite the sight. Other projects that day included tiling the bathroom floor with the help of Mr. & Mrs. E as well as splicing the cable back together when the backhoe accidentally severed it. Any of these projects would have been enough for a single day, but it's "go big or go home" on Wysteria Lane... I mean Manchester Drive.

This just in...

I’m learning about many of the features of this blogging tool. One of them is to allow entries via email. This particular entry was sent from an Outlook account. Pictures cannot be added via email. They can be added by sending photos from a mobile phone. Once a photo is sent to the special address, they have to be claimed and assigned to the proper blog.

Once this
was posted through email, I went back in and edited it because I wanted to change the text a bit.

New Paint - Old Landscaping

We painted the entire exterior of the house last summer in two and one half days. That was amazing! It couldn't have been accomplished without the help of amazing neighbors. This photo shows the front in its "almost completed" form. I'm uploading it now because this year's project is to work on the landscaping. A bunch of stuff is going to come out. The photos of the update will be coming soon.

Getting Started

The idea here is to figure out how to create and easy blog so I can teach a friend. We'll see how this works, then we'll go about making this a silly blog about the happenings on Manchester Drive.
